  • VINTAGE DENIM | March 2024

    Join us on March 12, 2024 as we to a deep dive into vintage denim with Levi Strauss & Co.’s historian and archivist Tracey Panek. Learn more about how Greensboro, NC has been a part of denim history for over a century!

  • Denim 101 Course | March 2024

    The spinning of cotton into yarn; the dyeing of yarn with indigo, and the weaving of yarn into the final product. All of these steps occurred at White Oak during its years of operation from 1905 until 2017. WOLF is ensuring those skills are still taught in the United States — and at the source. White Oak Legacy Foundation is organizing world-class instruction with industry experts in all areas of denim production (yarn, weaving, dyeing & finishing).

  • Denim 101 Goes Back to School

    White Oak Legacy Foundation (W.O.L.F.) is pleased to work with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction on a curriculum for state high school teachers.

  • AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: VIRGINIA POSTREL

    On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. at Revolution Mill in Greensboro, Author Virginia Postrel Discussed her book “The Fabric of Civilization: How Textiles Made the World.” She covered textile abundance and the ways textiles shaped civilization as we know it.

  • HONORING DYEMASTER FLOYD VIRGIL HAYES

    In Greensboro, North Carolina, in the 1940s, Floyd Virgil Hayes was never promoted to a high-level position at White Oak Cotton Mill. He was an African-American. But his skill as a master of mixing indigo dye for denim fabrics being made for Levi and other brands of blue jeans was unquestioned.

  • Pop-Up History Exhibit

    Come learn about a moment in denim history that occurred at the historic White Oak Denim Mill 100 years ago and led to the development of American blue jeans The innovations in Blue Exhibit will be on display at Revolution Mill from October 10, 2021—March 31, 2022.

  • CIRCULARITY AND BLUE JEANS

    Guest speakers discuss recycling, new uses for old denim, and sustainable manufacturing methods. WOLF was pleased to coordinate on this event with the Waste Management Institute of North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University, Cotton Incorporated, and Goodwill Industries.

  • DENIM INNOVATIONS

    On March 21, 2023, at Revolution Mill in Greensboro, North Carolina, White Oak Legacy Foundation presented a discussion on denim innovations. The event coincided with WOLF’s Denim 101 class, so all the Denim 101 students were invited to attend, and the event was open to the community.

  • DENIM INSPIRATION

    On September 26, 2023, White Oak Legacy Foundation held an event at Cone Denim offices that focused on the inspiration that denim designers, marketers, manufacturers, and vendors draw upon from historical artifacts.
